Mackenzie's Biography
Mackenzie Orchard is passionate about helping Kansans through difficult circumstances and fighting for those who have been wronged.
Mackenzie first attended Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas, where she was also a member of the volleyball team. She then graduated summa cum laude from Fort Hays State University with both Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice.
Throughout college and prior to law school, Mackenzie worked for Barton Central Kansas Upward Bound, a federal grant-funded program in Great Bend, Kansas helping to provide opportunities for low income, first-generation students to succeed in their pre-college performance and in their post-secondary educational pursuits.
Mackenzie graduated with High Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law. During law school, she had the privilege of interning with Federal Judge Brian C. Buescher in the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska in Omaha, focusing primarily on products liability law. Mackenzie also worked as a Student Attorney in the Children’s Justice Clinic, serving as Guardian ad Litem for juvenile clients involved in law violation or child welfare cases in Lancaster County, Nebraska. Mackenzie is licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas, United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
During her free time, Mackenzie enjoys taking her dog for walks, going to concerts, and watching Kansas City Royals and Chiefs games with her friends and family!
