Tyler's Biography
Tyler is a dedicated attorney committed to advocating for clients who face significant challenges. With a strong passion for representing the injured and voicing the concerns of those in need, he brings a compassionate and determined approach to his practice. Raised in a working-class family, Tyler learned the value of hard work and perseverance firsthand from his parents, who worked diligently to provide him with opportunities for success. This background has instilled in him a deep understanding of adversity and a relentless work ethic, qualities he applies rigorously to every case he handles.
Tyler is from Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in political science and sociology. During his undergraduate studies participated in the Truman Leadership Academy a summer camp program where he led local middle schoolers in skills-based leadership training. He also interned with the Missouri House of Representatives.
After spending some time in the non-profit world Tyler returned home as a true son to the University of Missouri School of Law for his legal education. During his time in law school, Tyler completed an internship with the Midwest Innocence Project and was Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate course in legal studies that provided an intro to law for undergrads interested in a legal education. Tyler also received a Certificate for Dispute Resolution from Mizzou Law’s Dispute Resolution program, which is ranked third in the nation.
Before joining DeVaughn James, Tyler worked at a legal non-profit that provided representation to tenants facing eviction by their landlords. Tyler was able to advocate for tenants and negotiate on their behalf in order to keep them housed and keep an eviction off of their record. This experience strengthened his resolve to tirelessly work for individuals going through some of the more difficult times of their lives.
When he is not zealously advocating for his clients, Tyler enjoys reading about history, spending time with his dog and cheering on Mizzou and all the Kansas City sports teams. He is always looking for opportunities to travel to a new national park for a hiking trip and trying new restaurants around Kansas City. He loves spending time with his parents, volunteering at Kansas City Pet Project, watching college football with his friends (MIZ!), and riding his bike along the Rock Island Trail.
Tyler is a hard worker with a passion for justice in all forms and will advocate tirelessly for his clients.
