Heather's Biography
A persuasive and effective negotiator, Heather captures the respect of clients by being zealous in her efforts to provide quality results in each and every case. Her clients reap the benefit of her knowledge, experience, and determination, as well as her compassion and personal investment in every matter. She is tenacious in pursuing her clients’ cases and enjoys building personal relationships in that process.
Prior to beginning her career at DeVaughn James, Heather practiced in the civil litigation field for six years, developing relationships with many medical facilities and providers throughout the state of Kansas.
Heather was born in Sumter, South Carolina and raised in Taylorville, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois (Springfield) in 2009, where she majored in criminal justice. Heather received her legal education from Southern Illinois University School of Law (Carbondale) (J.D. 2012). Upon graduation, she relocated to Wichita, Kansas.
Heather has two young daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and volunteering, particularly with the American Heart Association, Congenital Heart Defects Families Association and various animal rescues around Wichita.
Heather is licensed to practice law in Kansas and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. She is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and Kansas Trial Lawyers Association.
