Across his career, Matt’s work has centered on helping clients solve problems in systems that can feel unfamiliar, overwhelming, and impersonal. He believes effective representation begins with listening, understanding a client’s story, and using the law as a tool to help people.
Formerly an insurance defense attorney, Matt defended cases in state and federal courts involving tort claims, civil rights, and municipal liability. That experience taught him how insurance companies and defense lawyers evaluate claims, develop cases, and make litigation decisions. Matt now uses that knowledge to help injured clients understand the process, prepare their cases, and pursue the compensation they deserve. Matt is also a former criminal defense attorney who represented individuals facing some of life’s most stressful moments. That work reinforced the importance of listening carefully, preparing thoroughly, and making sure each client’s story is understood.
Outside the office, Matt is the lucky father of two adventurous boys and a proud member of Delta Chi Fraternity. He enjoys playing golf, trivia, following the Kansas City Royals, and keeping up with Kansas State sports.
