Haylee Scarlett

Haylee's Biography

Originally from a small farming community in northeast Kansas, Haylee is proud of her rural roots and the strong community values that shaped her. She is eager to continue serving Kansans after law school, helping those in need throughout the Wichita area.

Haylee attended Emporia State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Legal Studies, graduating summa cum laude. There, she headed the Emporia State Honors College, serving in multiple roles as President, Academic Journal Editor-in-Chief, and Marketing Chair. She then went on to attend the University of Kansas School of Law, working as a law clerk for DeVaughn James while also serving pro bono as a prosecutor in University Traffic Court proceedings. In the classroom, she received the CALI Award for Excellence in Remedies and focused on honing her trial advocacy and deposition skills.

Having been a personal injury plaintiff herself, Haylee brings a unique perspective to her clients’ cases. She understands the complex emotions that those seeking legal counsel often experience and goes out of her way to help her clients feel informed, empowered, and at peace throughout the process. For those same reasons, she zealously advocates for her clients’ interests, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected. Advocating for plaintiffs in their time of need is the very reason she pursued a legal career.

When she’s not in the office, Haylee enjoys spending time with her husband and cockapoo, BoJangles, playing recreational sports, traveling, and reading. You can often find her going on walks with her family, attending weekly game nights with friends, or browsing local farmer’s markets and libraries on the weekends.
