Jakob is committed to fighting for justice on behalf of those who have been injured through no fault of their own.
Jakob is from El Dorado, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 2015 with a degree in Geopolitical Studies. During his undergraduate studies, Jakob served as Vice President of the Student Government for two years and competed in debate and forensics, experiences that honed his advocacy skills.
After his time at Kansas Wesleyan, Jakob received his legal education from Washburn University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2019. During his time in law school, Jakob completed an externship in the chambers of former Chief Justice of the Federal District Court of Kansas, Judge Marten, where he gained invaluable insight into federal litigation and judicial decision-making.
Since graduating from law school, Jakob dedicated over six years to practicing plaintiff medical malpractice law, representing patients and families who have suffered harm due to medical negligence. This experience has given him deep expertise in navigating complex medical cases and holding healthcare providers and institutions accountable when they fail to meet the standard of care.
Jakob has expanded his practice across multiple jurisdictions, gaining admission to the Kansas Bar in 2019, the Missouri Bar in 2023, and the Oklahoma Bar in 2025. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Jakob is deeply involved in the legal community and committed to advancing the cause of justice for injured plaintiffs. He is an active member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves as the Chair of the Amicus Curiae Committee. He also serves on the KTLA Journal Editorial Board as a member for Pretrial Discovery. Previously, Jakob chaired the New Trial Lawyers section and co-chaired the Medical Malpractice Section, and he served on the Education Committee.
A prolific legal writer and educator, Jakob has authored over 20 legal articles on subjects ranging from discovery in litigation to evaluating the value of a life. He has presented over 10 different presentations for lawyers on topics including obtaining medical records and evaluating the future of damage caps in Kansas. His contributions to the legal profession were recognized when he was named to the Wichita Business Journal's 40 Under 40 class of 2025, and he was honored with the Pat Ayars Mentoring Award for his dedication to mentoring within the community.
Beyond his legal practice, Jakob serves as a Council Member on the Kansas Wesleyan Alumni Council, staying connected to his alma mater and supporting current students. He also volunteers with Paws in Oz spay and neuter clinics, giving back to his community and helping animals in need.
When he is not zealously advocating for his clients, Jakob is a huge Wichita Wind Surge and Wichita Thunder fan, and he loves cheering on the KC Chiefs and Royals. He enjoys spending time with his two corgi mixes, Kaya and Lulla, and is always looking for opportunities to support local Wichita sports and community events.
