May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, instituted by the National Safety Council. DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers is urging motorists to be aware of motorcycles on all the nation’s roads and highways but especially on Kansas roadways.

Most motorcycle crashes happen when other drivers on the road can’t see them. Motorcyclists must always have situational awareness while riding in order to protect themselves from potentially dangerous situations. Other types of motorists need to be equally cautious as well since motorcyclists are not as easily seen as cars and trucks.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (N.H.T.S.A.) reports that motorcyclists are 25 times more likely to die in a traffic accident than people in passenger cars. And so, it’s imperative for all types of motorists to always maintain a heightened sense of awareness.

Don’t become a statistic, make safe riding a priority this May during Motorcycle Awareness Month and every month in the future.
